How to Create and Share a WhatsApp Group Link
Aug 23, 2026 · Editorial Team
If you already run a WhatsApp group, an invite link is the cleanest way for strangers to request entry without you collecting phone numbers. The link is created inside WhatsApp. GroupsFull only stores a copy that you paste on the add group form.
Create the group in WhatsApp first
In WhatsApp, start a new group, add at least one other participant if the app requires it, set a clear name, and write a group description that states the topic and any hard rules. A name like “Karachi junior software jobs (no CV spam)” helps the right people and warns the wrong ones.
Generate the invite
- Open the group → group info.
- Choose the invite link option WhatsApp shows for admins.
- Copy the
https://chat.whatsapp.com/...address. - Share it only where you are comfortable with new members arriving.
You can reset the link later. Resetting invalidates the old URL. If that URL was listed here, update the listing from the site admin or submit a replacement only if the old listing is removed, because the public form blocks the exact same invite from being added twice.
Decide how public the link should be
A link in a private class chat is different from a link on a public website. Public listing means people you do not know can try to join. If the group handles sensitive discussion, keep the invite off directories and share it directly. If the group is meant to grow — a study circle, a local jobs board, a hobby room — a directory can be reasonable.
Submit the listing
On GroupsFull you do not create a member account. Provide the group name, the invite URL, a category, and an optional description and icon. If you skip the icon, a default image is shown. Staff may review the listing before it is published, depending on the approval setting.
Write the public description in plain language. Avoid promising “10,000 active members” unless you personally know that to be true inside WhatsApp. This site will not invent that number for you.
After the listing goes live
Watch the group for a few days. If too many off-topic joiners arrive, reset the invite, tighten the description, and ask an administrator to update or remove the old listing. Pair this with clear group rules so new members know what happens next.
Conclusion
Create the invite in WhatsApp, treat it as a public doorway, and only then paste it into the directory. Reset the link when the doorway is being abused. The listing is a pointer, not a substitute for moderation.
FAQ
Can I list a group without registering?Yes. The public submission form does not ask for an email login.
What if my invite was already submitted? The same invite URL cannot be added again from the public form. Ask staff via the contact page if you need the existing listing updated.
